My personal mission is to craft, create, and facilitate theatre for a better future. As a queer woman with a dark sense of humor and vendetta against late -stage capitalism, I love to satirize and abstract the world we inhabit in my art. I want to make theatre that creates a funhouse mirror maze for the audience, causing laughter, uncanniness, and hope for change. I have seen that then, we can learn more about ourselves, our world, and our future.

It takes a team to create this funhouse, one that can communicate with each other, hold space and compassion in times of change, and push each other to reach the unexpected. That is what makes theatre so powerful. Without collaboration, theatre has no magic, no life of its own. It takes a foundation of creativity and community to find something deeper and discover what that funhouse can hold. As for the art itself, I believe in theatre that invites me to play and feels like magic. Play and magic can be ridiculous, serious, and even deadly at times. I want the world of a play to test me. What’s the fun in playing without a challenge?

Issues I am passionate about include: gender inequality, sexuality, economic inequality, education, and environmental sustainability.
